Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE)
My son was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE) in February 2018. As a family we have had to make quite a few adjustments. In addition to medications he must be completely dairy-free. This means no milk, no cheese, no ice cream, no yogurt. This means nothing that even contains milk - so like bread that is made with milk, cereal that is made with milk. This means anything that could contain traces of milk. so something that doesn't contain milk but was made in a factory that does process any milk is out. I used to think that "MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF..." statement on food labels was a bit over the top. But then we fed him a granola bar that said MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF... and he immediately started throwing up.
Food allergies have only complicated things. I'll be working on this page to add additional resources for those of you who deal with this as well!
