Food Allergies & Oral Immunotherapy (OIT)

My son was diagnosed with severe food allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs and milk. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and eggs.

Following a life threatening reaction for my son in 2017 we started the process of Oral Immunotherapy (OIT) that has greatly relieved the frequency and severity of his reactions. More to come!

Food Allergies At School

Our doctor suggested that we pursue a 504 Plan with our school. This can be very tricky because some schools do not see allergies as a disability. But they are! They make everything different at school and are life threatening if not properly handled. More soon!

If you or your child are participating in oral food challenges of nuts with your allergist - you will need to purchase nuts that have not been processed or cross-contaminated with any other nuts. Here is a great list for that. Most of the companies that I have dealt with have been amazing. They are usually smaller, family farms and just the nicest people!
